I always wanted to write a family-oriented TV show that combined the humour and diversity of Modern Family with the drama of Brothers & Sisters and the soapy intrigue of Desperate Housewives. It would have a large ensemble cast that rivals a Jackie Collins novel. The family name would be Hart, and the clever name for this show would be 'Where the Hart is' - cue instrumental pop-ballad opening credits.
But as this hasn't really come to fruition yet, I've made a family with the surname Hart. It isn't quite the extended family I pictured in my imaginary TV Show, but hopefully down the line there will be enough siblings and cousins to at least live up to my television dreams.
So without further ado, meet the Hart's!
As mentioned in a previous post, I've added some LIFE to my adult sims by giving them jobs, skills and rewards from the get-go.
Henry Hart
The family's patriarch has been working hard to take his career to the next level - he has his sights set on the role of mayor.
Life-stage: Adult
Career: Politics, Level 5 (City Council Member)
Lifetime Wish: Lifestyle of the Rich & Famous (it's got a better pay-off than Leader of the Free World and Living in the Lap of Luxury - the two obvious choices for Henry. I think Lifestyle of the Rich & Famous adds an interesting dimension to Henry: he's on a life path that is respectable and honourable, but he's following it for shallow, selfish reasons. He's probably also really insecure deep down inside and needs the constant reassurance that comes with recognition and acknowledgement)
Lifetime Rewards:
- Always on the list (after all, he's a City Council Member!)
- Attractive (given Henry's traits, I'm sure people will find him charming and handsome)
- Better Mixologist (I like this one because I imagine Henry likes to knock back a stiff drink quite regularly and knows his way around a liquor cabinet. I can picture him mixing drinks for guests and quietly sipping a scotch in his office when he need some down-time)
- Legendary Host (because this is the family the Jones' keep up with)
Victoria Hart
Ever the trophy wife, Victoria has the social pages all sewn up. Though she's an assumed heiress, Victoria remains coy about her background, which only feeds the mystery and intrigue that surrounds her.
Career: Unemployed... for now!
Lifetime Wish: Fashion Phenomenon (it made perfect sense to me when this LTW came up. Of course Victoria is seen as a bit of a style icon by the movers and shakers in her high-society social circles. Stylist for her more fashion-challenged peers seems like the obvious next step for somebody like Victoria - everybody thinks so, darling)
Lifetime Rewards:
- Eye Candy (I mean, look at her!)
- Never Dull (the queen of polite conversation)
- Speedy Cleaner (she does it better than the maid, anyway)
- Long Distant Friend (you don't get much face-time with somebody as popular as Victoria)
Elizabeth Hart
Elizabeth has returned home after being expelled from the prestigious boarding school where she was completing senior studies. Seven years ago she left the Hart home as a plucky 10 year old named Beth, now she's a worldly, cynical and too-cool-for-school teenaged terror who only answers to the name Elle.

Harry Hart
Life-stage: Child
